I Am A Good Girl

YES! As the title says, this is the look I recreate from the movie Burlesque on the "I Am A Good Girl" number.
When I saw the movie I was like, "TUTORIAL! TUTORIAL!" I was obsessed by Christina Aguilera's makeup looks and I certainly can't get over it!(honestly!) I'm planning to recreate more looks based on that movie.

This look is soo girly! It's good to wear on parties or you could tone it down a bit to make it more wearable.
Hope you like it guys! :)

Fact On My Pictures

Hey guys! This topic is gonna be about the pictures (my pictures) I upload here on my blog and in some social networks such as facebook, etc.

I always get the question "Do you edit your pictures?" Well my answer is "YES". I do edit my pictures BUT I don't edit that much. I only CROP, RESIZE and add the name of my blog on my pictures. I never had an editing like those made from photoshop. The truth is, I am completely illiterate when it comes to Adobe Photoshop. I edit my pictures in Microsoft Office Picture Manager (resize and crop) and Paint (to add my blog's name).

Editing pictures is very common nowadays, but I was never a fan of it.
I'm afraid in touching the colors of my artworks through the use of Photoshop. Not because I don't know how to use it but because I love to see the REAL thing from my work. I love my work so much that I appreciate whatever makeup look I do. When a picture is not edited, you can see everything. The flaws, the good, the bad (if you know what I mean). As an artist, my point of view is that, you need to use your skills and creativity by using those brushes and makeup in your kit and not that installed software in your computer just to make your pictures look beautiful. It just makes the picture farther from reality. For me, editing a picture in Photoshop is just a bonus to improve the picture of your work. And yes photoshop is used on magazines, posters and other advertising stuffs. But hey, I ain't doing any magazines here on my blog. :)

As an artist, seeing the good and the bad side of my unedited photos helps me motivate myself on improving my skills, specially my blending skills. It really helped me a lot and I was so happy. And I know that I am still in the process of learning as I see through those unedited photos.

I'm not saying I dislike editing pictures. Photoshop is a great software to use in advertising and stuff. It's just that, in terms of showing people my work, I would prefer the "raw" pictures. They could see the real artist in me and that would be enough to make me happy. :)

Futuristic Eyes

I had this look done for a couple of months now. I forgot to post it here in my blog (omg I tend to forget sooo many things 'cause I got million things on my mind everyday!)

Well this is a simple, yet creative eye makeup with a futuristic theme. When I think about the "Future", I think of loud colors, bold shapes and different transitions of colors. Indeed, creativity is a must in dealing with this kind of look. I'm lucky to have enough creativity in me to create this look. It took me about 40 minutes to finish the first eye and I felt too lazy to continue doing the same look on the other eye. Maybe next time, baby.:)

It was fun! :)

Review: MAC Viva Glam Gaga

It's been a year since MAC launched the Viva Glam Gaga Lipstick and I've been using this for a year also! :)
(yeah late review again haha) I was a big fan of Lady Gaga, she empowers women strength and confidence through her groovy songs, outrageous outfits and spectacular stage performances. She's definitely an icon that everyone knows; even a little child knows at least one of her songs :)

As you may know, MAC has an AIDS campaign and 100% of the proceeds of each and everyone of the Viva Glam lipsticks go to the MAC AIDS fund. I'm so happy that Lady Gaga partnered with MAC in this kind of project. Aside from Lady Gaga, we can also see the participation from Fergie and Cyndi Lauper and they also launched their own Viva Glam Lipsticks. During the summer 2010 (I think) Viva Glam Cyndi and Viva Glam Gaga were launched with lipglosses. Now, MAC launched the Viva Glam Gaga 2, a nude color with a matching lipgloss too.

Packaging: 9/10
It has a red signature of Lady Gaga at the outside portion of the box as well as at the lipstick tube which is kinda cool. The lipstick tube is just the same shape as the MAC regular lipsticks.

The Viva Glam Gaga is sort of a bubblegum pink lipstick with a sheen. It's a lustre finish so it has a soft and light pigmentation. Because it's sheer, it takes quite a lot in building up the color. It has that shiny finish that lustre lipsticks usually have. It's pink.. a Gaga pink.. and a suitable makeup look should be worn in order for this lipstick to become wearable. A piece costs $14.50.
Please go to maccosmetics.com for more info.

All in all, I enjoyed using this product and the best part, you contribute to the MAC AIDS campaign. :)

yea, I have a lot of yellow undertone. :)

Inspired by: Nicole Scherzinger

Hey there guys! Here's a new makeup look that I did. Its a bit more on the brown side, like a smoky metallic brown look. This look is inspired by Nicole Scherzinger, PussyCat Dolls leads singer. As you all may notice, she always wear those bronzey, smoky brown eyes paired with a tanned skin and nude lips. I tried to recreate her look and this is what I came up with. I did not get the luck to film it into a tutorial video though.
My camera is being annoying! But I hope this pictures will do! :)

I really had fun making this look. It's easy and you can wear it on a night out.  Enjoy!

I personally love this look! :)

Product Review: Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadows

Hi guys! The product review for today is the Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadows. I had this product for a long time and its just lately when I realized how much I love this product and that I have to post a review on it.
At the back of the packaging, it says that:
      - Layer and blend translucent shadows for amazing multi-color luminosity
      - Crease-resistant color glides on smoothly and stays on all day

Basically, it's a palette of creme shadows and comes in a sleek black case. It has four colors of shadows and most of the colors they have has shimmery and metallic finish to it, thus, giving a luminous effect on the skin.
But then, there are a few colors which has a matte finish. It doesn't come with any applicators so make sure you have your eye brushes or you could just use your fingers (brushes are better if you'd ask me).
It has a creamy consistency and glides on easily when you apply it. It also has a good color pay off. I'll rate its pigmentation at 4/5. :)

I'd say that these shadows are good to use as bases like those paint pots from MAC because its good as a base and at the same time has a color to it. But I won't tell you that these are dupes for paint pots, I just use them kinda like a paint pot. :) I never got any problems on creasing when I'm using this product.

This palette is handy and could fit in your purse or mini makeup bag. Revlon has 12 gorgeous sets of shades to choose from. I'm lucky enough to get 4 sets of it because Revlon here in the Philippines don't sell this kind of shadows. Because its so hot in here in the Philippines, cream shadows was never a hit. Cream shadows use to melt in humid countries. But you can purchase these from drugstore.com, CVS or Walgreens (local drugstore at U.S.) around $4.59 - $ 6.49.

I highly recommend this product because of its crease resistance. Its amazing.  Photos and swatches below!

Lotions - Potions for the Skin!

During childhood, I was never a fan of lotions. It always leaves a greasy feeling on my skin. And during summer, it feels "yucky" when I feel those greasy sensation. Lotions are made to nourish the skin, retaining its moisture to help it become supple and smooth to touch. As you all know, there are different brands as well as kinds of lotions, there are the ones for whitening, firming, relaxing (like those aromatheraphy kinds), intensive moisture or those which is formulated for super dry skin. I happen to came across lotions that gave me a satisfying result. I know these lotions are familiar and very common to you. But I was surprised by results it has given me.:) Take a look at them:

First, the Johnson's Body Care Melt Away Stress Daily Calming Lotion. The packaging indicates that it has AROMASOOTHE which helps melt away daily tension and promote better rest at night. It is enriched with chamomile which as we know is best for relaxation and is proven to promote better sleep at night. It also has some hints of lavender and moonflower. Lavender is mostly used for aromatheraphy massage oils to help release tension on the body. I bought this lotion on my local drugstore to see if it really helps ease out body tensions. I was restless every night and sometimes has difficulty in catching some sleep. It cost me P82.00 for a 100mL bottle. This lotion is good. It's not greasy on the skin and the scent of it really relaxes my body. I would highly recommend this product for those who have trouble in sleeping at night like me. It also makes the skin supple and smooth! Smells good too:)

Second, the Jergens Ultra Healing Lotion. January is the coldest month here in the Philippines. I experience over dryness of my hands and heels. I looked for a lotion suitable for my problem and I found this on my local drugstore. It cost me P21.00 for a 25mL bottle. Yes, its a mini size, so you won't have any problem in bringing it with you anywhere. I only use this lotion in my hands and heels. The lotion offers 24 hours of hydration and it has soften my hands and heels on my very first use of it. I would recommend this lotion for those who experience skin over dryness.

These lotions are amazingly cheap but has great stuffs to offer. Johnson's Lotions are good because they're mild. And I would say that the Calming Lotion as well as the Baby Milk Lotion were my favorites :)
Jergen's has a wide range of lotions to choose from and comes with different sizes to suit your need. So why purchase expensive lotions when you can get the same benefits it offers in cheaper ones? It's time to be practical. Give it a shot guys. :)
